Rob on Australia:
"Often you hear people go, 'You're such a young country.' And I'm going, 'You don't get it.' That's the great thing. Because we haven't locked down yet, things are pretty easy."
Rob on The Castle:
"I think a lot of modern life makes you think that there's a perfection ideal that everybody has to aspire to. And in some ways the film says, 'Relax. We're all 20% dill. And 20% unsophisticated and 20% this and that.' But if your heart's in the right spot ultimately that's what wins. It's OK to be the dill down the street occasionally."
Rob on The Dish:
"The story wasn’t known in Australia before the film. We tripped over it one day. A guy I’ve worked with said, “Do you know anything about Australia’s involvement in the Apollo 11 mission, and my answer was, “We had none.” It was like searching for buried treasure. We started going to the library, and found a book on radio astronomy, and in it was a chapter on the Parkes radio telescope and the Apollo 11 mission. It was really amazing reading, and we found the facts were more interesting than what we were making up. It was a really interesting research job." |
